“LIVE IN THE MOMENT. FORGET THE PAST AND DON’T WORRY ABOUT THE FUTURE.”
Most of us are living in the future or the past, rethinking an old battle or planning for a future one.
I believe that the war in our own head, sooner or later the effects start showing on our body as well. The feeling in our throat or our chest, the breath being shallow, and feeling of nauseous in our stomach. As far as our body’s concerned, we may as well be having an experince in the realm of reality: stress hormones flow just as much, doing their damage.
When the war is in our head, We inevitably lose every time. It may not matter how often we re-fight the battles, we have ceded our peace of mind and anything else that may be available to us in the present. We can wear ourselves out boxing with shadows and fighting this unknown enemy.
We go over and over the same thought inwardly rethinking our grievances, telling them off, or spinning them down the rabbit holes of innumerable “What Ifs”. None of it does any good to us as the war in our head. It adds to our misery and suffering.
The quiet in our minds is almost eerie as and when we have it. It seems like a battlefield after the ceasefire is called for.
